The Kids in The Hall

In 1984 five funny Canadian kids with a proclivity for dressing in drag performed weekly at The Rivoli in Toronto to an audience of adoring fans.  Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson would soon become internationally known as THE KIDS IN THE HALL.

Discovered by Saturday Night Live creator, Lorne Michaels, The Kids in the Hall launched a television series on HBO and CBC.   The troupe’s distinctly edgy humor broke new ground with their characterizations of secretaries, prostitutes, gays, drug users, and oddball creations like the half-human Chicken Lady, the vengeful "head crusher" and the chauvinist Cabbage Head.

Not having performed together in four years, The Kids are back to rediscover their theatrical roots in three rare performances.  As in the early years at The Rivoli, The Kids will come to the table Monday morning, work out new sketches and characters, then put up a show on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  It will be a unique opportunity for audiences to travel back in time to the day when The Kids in the Hall first discovered their gift for making strange things happen in normal places.
